Dogtooth

Dogtooth are a three-piece Mod band based in Glasgow and is comprised of John Hewitson (guitar/vocals), Craig Morrison (bass) and Robert Lang (drums/vocals). The band started out in 2013, like most other bands – by playing covers of some of their favourite bands such as; The Jam, The Who, Oasis, The Stone Roses, Catfish and the Bottlemen and The Libertines. After playing covers for a while, they decided that it would finally be time to begin writing their own material, and they did just that.

The band is comprised of front-man, Johnny Irwin (guitar/vocals), Ross Caldwell (guitar/vocals), Dave McNally (bass/vocals) and Eamonn Kelly (drums). After the name change of the band, they stuck in the studio for months recording brand new music which has been an eager wait for fans who have been waiting to hear the brand new and polished Luna The Professor! Taking influences from bigger bands within the same genre such as; Catfish and the Bottlemen, Arctic Monkeys and Two Door Cinema Club. As known as The Vistas prior, they had already built-up a strong following from fans, thanks to their irresistible sound of Indie-rock, but when it was time to come back into the scene and play some shows, they absolutely smashed it, having sold out not one, not two, not three but a whopping four shows at Glasgow’s famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and other venue’s around Scotland, having only recently played a show put on by ‘This Feeling’ in Beat Generator, Dundee and continuing to tour Scotland with their massive sounds visiting major cities such as Glasgow and Edinburgh, with the Glasgow date on May 24th 2019 being a single launch for their brand new single, “Dreamers”, which is anticipated to be huge after the release of their debut single, “You” which has racked up a astounding 45,000 Spotify streams in only a few months. Luna The Professor has also had the massive opportunity to play in some bigger venues and festivals supporting the likes of King No-One in Glasgow’s Garage, The LaFontaines in Motherwell Concert Hall and making their festival debut at Groove Cairngorn leading onto showcasing themselves at XpoNorth in 2018.

While all of these huge live shows are happening for the band, they are still all very much tucked up in the studio recording brand new material for fans and continuing to expand their name and brand.

These guys are definitely one to keep an eye on, “This lot are going places, and fast!” , says GigSlutz.

Royal Bloom

If Alice in Chains got into a bar fight with Nirvana

Royal Bloom @ O2 ABC, Sept 2017

Royal Bloom is a DIY high-octane self-reflecting amped up Grunge-Rock band from Ayr. The three piece have been making a huge impact in the Scottish music scene since mid-2016 and becoming one of the biggest names in Ayrshire’s music scene, with their latest 6 track debut EP titled ‘Under The Bridge’ that has been making its mark and the band are in the midst of working on their first studio album that is being recorded in the local studio, SoundMagic Music Studio’s, based in Ayr.

Before the formation of Royal Bloom, each member had an extensive background in music from a young age. Lewis Wise (guitar, vocals) left his previous band in search for his current style and the ability to play music that he actually enjoyed playing after playing Glasgow’s infamous O2 ABC. Kyle McKnight (drums) and Aaron Dick (bass) both have a strong and long lasting history in the music scene as they both performed in bands for years prior to the group forming.

2018 was an electrifying year for the DIY Grunge-Rock band by executing their first headline tour in Scotland, they have also performed in notorious venues such as King Tut’s, O2 ABC and Glasgow Garage and for the remainder of the year are playing shows all over England with their next show being in Newcastle supporting Grasscutter in Head of Steam (Fri 24 May).

Currently, Royal Bloom has a vision and a thirst for UK domination. The band will be performing at all four corners of the UK throughout 2019, be it London or Aberdeen – they will be passing through a city near you! These guys are really a band to really keep an eye on!

Feral Agenda

Originally a five-piece formed in Ayr at the beginning of 2018, Feral Agenda have been working on making a name for themselves in the local area. They are constantly experimenting with their unique sound achieved thanks to a mix of a wide variety of styles, mostly death metal, thrash metal, groove metal, metal-core and alternative metal.

After a number of set-backs and a change in the bands line-up, now as a four-piece with two former members and two new members recently added to the line-up. The band is starting to get active in the local scene again by supporting other bands and joining them at festivals.

Last month, the band were asked by local promoter, KS Events to support Royal Bloom in Harley’s – one of the biggest local acts in Ayrshire’s music scene, and they went on to absolutely smash their set! Following the success of the last gig, they have just secured a slot supporting Anchor Lane in Fury’s at the tail-end of May. Just over a month later, the band have been tucked away in the recording studio recording their debut EP, ‘Feral’ which is expected to be released in the near future.
